What the MUGEN.NET Wiki Is Not[edit]

MUGEN.NET is not meant to be a database of creators and their works, but a collection of development notes. Community history, including but not limited to community policies, figures, or drama are not allowed and any article violating this rule is subject to reversion or deletion, and may be considered a bannable offense.

MUGEN.NET is not a chatroom, not even in the discussion or user pages. Use the Discord server for that.

Rules[edit]

The rules for the MUGEN.NET wiki are very similar to those in the site's Discord server.

  1. Please do not post any of your private information or private information of others in the chatrooms, blog, or wiki. It is not only for your own safety, but also for the safety of others.
  2. Do not engage in political discussions of any kind. The fighting game community is diverse, and we all come from very diverse backgrounds. Consider that political discussion could not be pleasant or a very sensitive topic to others around you.
  3. Active displays of discrimination and/or hate speech will not be tolerated.
  4. Do not engage or endorse harassment and/or ad-hominem of any kind; particularly when it comes to feedback.
  5. Power / status harassment is not tolerated. Belittling others and/or attitudes similar to boasting about increased posting privileges are a bannable offense.
  6. Not-safe-for-work (NSFW) content is not allowed. Please refrain from posting this type of content.
  7. Make sure to read and understand individual rules established in subsections.

Articles[edit]

Articles should ideally be written for all audiences regardless of skill level. Language should ideally be as neutral as possible (avoid using pronouns such as "you" in favor of more generic yet descriptive terms such as "user," "player," or "developer.")

Documentation[edit]

The M.U.G.E.N 1.1b1 docs have been added to the wiki. Additional comments are not only allowed, but encouraged, as there are bugs and incorrect documentation. 1.1b1 was chosen because it contains everything M.U.G.E.N has ever had. Explanations for implementation differences among the various versions of M.U.G.E.N are also allowed and encouraged.

Other Engines[edit]

Other game engines are also fair game for discussion, code examples, and documentation. The same concepts for M.U.G.E.N can be applied to pretty much any engine, and the CNS syntax is simple enough that it can be easily understood by any developer. For this reason, if an implementation or feature is possible in M.U.G.E.N, it should be provided.
